Discover what there is to appreciate in your life each day. There's a place filled with warmth & appreciation. Each of us has at least five things in our
life every day for which to be grateful. There's a place to improve your life significantly, simply by discovering how to become aware of those
little aspects, events or people you now have in your life - all those little things to appreciate. Stop and think about it. Stop and smell the roses.
Learning how to recognize and focus on Gratitude is easier than you can imagine.
“It’s not happiness that makes us grateful, but it’s gratitude that makes us happy”
Heartfelt Story of Fatherhood learning the art of appreciation.
According to Doc Childre and Howard Martin, "You can never get to peace and inner security without first acknowledging all of the good things in your life. If you're forever wanting and longing for more without first appreciating things the way they are, you'll stay in discord."
In order to be fulfilled, you need to learn how to appreciate your life. Here are some simple steps you can take to accomplish this goal.
Work hard to have an attitude of gratitude. As you learn to appreciate the small things in your life, you'll find a sense of happiness and wholeness. You'll also find it easier to appreciate the big things in your life, which will help you appreciate your life as a whole.
To begin with, find five things to be grateful for each day. Call this your "Gratitude List," and write it down before bedtime. At first, it might be hard to find even just five things to be grateful for. That's okay. You won't learn how to appreciate your life over night, just like you didn't become dissatisfied over night either. List small things, and go from there. The longer you keep a "Gratitude List," the easier it will be to find things to put on it. Soon you'll be able to list more things than you thought possible!
Learn to appreciate others. Take note when someone does something nice for you. If your spouse or a co-worker does a job that's normally yours, stop and thank them sincerely. Cherish the moment, and look for other opportunities to find the good in others. This will help you appreciate the people around you, who are also part of your life.
Appreciate yourself. This can be extremely hard, especially with all the criticism we hear from others, and even more so, the criticism we heap on ourselves. However, admiring yourself is essential for appreciation. Appreciation also includes respect and admiration, and you can't appreciate or truly enjoy your life if you don't respect and admire at least some aspect of yourself. So, think of one small thing you can appreciate about yourself every day, and take the time to really enjoy it. Be thankful for it, and know you're learning how to really appreciate your life.
